Mary Did You Know?

This antique print is one of my favorites.
Rather than hanging, it sits on a side board in my living room, year round.

As I recall it was a gift from my son.
It's tall, about 22 inches,
and is in a lovely gilded frame.

There is no visable attribution,
and I wasn't able to find anything
about it online.

You can't see her feet here,
but she's barefoot.

This beautiful rendition of Mary Did You Know
 by Ceelo Green
is from the mini series The Bible,
 scheduled to debut in 2013.

I have enjoyed this Christmas season more
than any I can remember since I was a child.

Spending extra time with family, entertaining,
celebrating with friends ~ my cup is full.

Counting My Blessings

  6. Hi Susy, your print is wonderful, I also have this same print. The painter is William-Adolf Bouguereau, a French painter from the 1800's. If you do a search for his paintings you will see many similar ones, he was a very prolific painter, and has many famous well known pieces. Such a lovely gift, what a blessing! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

  7. Susy, it is such a beautiful picture for 'your favorite thing'!
    That was a beautiful video.
I have a CD of one of our New Zealand singers with "Mary Did You Know" on it - I play it over and over in the car!

  13. That picture is unlike any I've seen. At first, I didn't recognize it as a Madonna and Child, though now I do with Mary carrying the symbolic lamb as well. I'm smiling to think that you are enjoying a very rich and blessed Christmas season. Praise God!

  14. Beautiful ...........and I am so glad you are enjoying the holiday season--that is what it is all about--taking time to reflect and to praise our God for His marvelous gift to us. I need to slow down a little and do the same thing! Love you dear friend.
