AWOL

Like many of you, I've been BIZ-E since the beginning of the year. When I started blogging last July things were in a lull, but no more!    I do admin and event planning for one of the ministry departments of my church, and we've started the year off with a busy Calendar of Events.

Hubby and I did have a chance to run down to "the river" for a few days.

We out ran a storm on the way down

And found beautiful, crisp weather when we arrived

Mr. D worked on the cabin for a couple of days

And then we had a fun day of adventure

I created a junque garden from old bottles and bed springs we found

And enjoyed the sunrises

and sunsets

Back in town, I'm continuing to work with a non-profit
collecting donated furniture and household goods,
and storing them until they're needed by someone
moving off the streets into their own apartment.

The apartments and utilities are paid for
by local agencies for several months,
until the homeless person gets on their feet.
  It's a great program.

And I'm endeavoring to keep my new year's commitment
  • Watch what you eat
  • Exercise
  •   Pray every day

Some days are more successful than others.

I've added a challenge to that - taken from a letter I received last year:
"Focus your prayer life, your bible study, and your giving
toward the determined goal
of breaking loose from what has governed you in the past,
and take a fresh hold on the power of God's grace and righteousness."

I'm still trying to find a rhythm to working, volunteering,
leading a life group, keeping a couple of consignment spaces filled
and most importantly taking care of Mr. D.'s
bookkeeping and filing (ughh) .

Although it feels like things are starting to level off
 I'm still working it out.

Blessings,  Susy

What Time Is It?

In California, like many states,
Daylight Savings Time
comes to an end this weekend.
It got me thinking about the time and season
we're living in right now.
It could be frightening,
except that we have Jesus.
He has encouraged us to not be afraid,
because He is with us always.

Eccesiastes 3:1-8
To everything there is a season,
and a time to every purpose
under heaven

A time to be born

and a time to die

a time to plant,
and a time to pluck up that which is planted

A time to kill, and a time to heal

A time to break down and a time to build up

A time to weep, and a time to laugh

a time to mourn and a time to dance

A time to cast away stones,
and a time to gather stones together

a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing

A time to get, and a time to lose

A time to keep, and a time to cast away

A time to rend, and a time to sew

A time to keep silence and a time to speak

A time to love, and a time to hate

a time of war and a time of peace.

Blessings to you,
Susy
