He worked some, laying stepping stones along one side of the cabin
"Smile for the camera." "I am smiling, take the picture!"
The next day we hit the dusty trail to the lake
He fished, I read a book and worked on a lesson plan on my iPad
The sunshine, fresh air, and reprieve from the internet and cellphones
was quite restorative
I came home feeling invigorated for the season ahead

"I am smiling..." Gosh, I've heard that before. What a nice retreat and it's out in the middle of the desert? Interesting. I think a hiatus is a mighty fine idea from time to time, though it is good to see you back!

It's good to get away, and I did wonder about you.. :-) Glad all is well and that you feel refreshed. We also were away and came back to lots of work, but it's still good to have had that time away. Sort of stores up some renewal. Or something like that!
