Hello Again

Fall has arrived ~ at least on the calendar.

For us in coastal Southern California it means crisp mornings, cutting back the rose bushes, light sweaters, and tennis shoes instead of flip-flops (maybe).

For me, it means
reluctantly closing the kitchen windows ,
endeavoring to keep the cookie jar full,
and (oh boy) the return of my Life Group on Monday night.

It's been a few weeks since the ladies have met.
We'll catch up with each other,
listen to music and teachings,
encourage each other, cry, pray and laugh together.

So!  It's time to fluff the pillows...

throw a log on the fire...

wind the clock...

Put the kettle on...

strike up the band...

and turn on the porch lights

WELCOME back my friends.  I couldn't do life without you!

  2. Are those pictures of your home, Susy? It's gorgeous.

Breaks are nice, and keep us from getting in a rut, but I always welcome a return to routine.

A dozen or two of us gather at our church each Monday night for a potluck dinner (the numbers vary), followed by a time of prayer and worship (lights turned down, intimate atmosphere).

In the summer, with so many going on vacations, we went about a month that we didn't meet. Part of me enjoyed not worrying about what I'd cook to take on Monday nights, so that part of the break was nice. The other part of me really missed the "family" dinners. It's so nice to now be back in the swing of things again.

Enjoy your Monday night group, I know I'm going to. :-)

Oh, and I added your hubby's favorite recipe to my recipe box on allrecipes, love that site!

  3. Your home is so pretty, Susy. Loved looking at the photos.

Gotta check out that cookie recipe.:)
And, it's still way too hot out here in West Texas to even THINK of putting a log on the fire. :))

  4. Welcome back to you too! I might have to try those cookies after I lose 10 pounds before the wedding. Of course, that is probably impossible, our son gets married in 3 days! (0: Beautiful pictures!

  5. I think part of the reason Fall is so special is that it passes through rather quickly. We had a very beautiful day here today. The kind I wouldn't mind capturing and experiencing very often.

  6. If I had oatmeal on hand, I would make those cookies tomorrow. All of hubby's favorite things.
    Your Ladies Group sounds wonderful.
Oh to answer your question. I have been saying I was opening an Etsy for two years...maybe soon.
