For the Birds!

I was an early bird today, and had a hankerin' to blog...so I was inspired to share a few of the birds that nest at my house.  Like so many of you, I'm drawn to bird figurines and art. I'm not sure when it started, but it appears I have a bird collection.

Here's a little carved bird from my April Cornell days...

 a vintage Sugar and Creamer

and one of my favorites... a McCoy bird

(you might enjoy one of my earlier posts Morning Light)

Vintage salt and pepper shakers;
the bottoms screw off to fill

A small planter ~ also McCoy?

Pie birds and a hand-painted plate

A little ceramic cuckoo-cuckoo clock

and a birdhouse

One of our REAL birds:  Bobo the Brat

(she's so fussy, she hisses at herself in the mirror)

 Handmade birds-on-a-Branch

A birds nest twig-spray my sis made

Birds on planter pots

Birds on Vases

Birds on a lamp base

and even a candle snuff

They're everywhere!

Looks like this early bird even got the worm!

  1. I too love birds.. You have a beautiful array here. Our rainbow lorakeets and cockatoos are flying in huge swams looking for fruit. They noise they make early in the mornings can't help but awaken.
    Have a great day. CM

  2. You have many different birds. They are sweet. My Mom kind of got me hooked on bird figurines. She has a bunch of them!

  3. I too love birds and had quite a collection before we moved. I still have a few. Loved seeing your collection. Glad to see you back in blogland. I've missed you.
We have been in LB since Monday.
However, I have no car this week, so am stuck in my little old trailer park. If I get to bring my car in the next couple of weeks, I'll let you know.

  4. Very fun! And I have a little yellow bird on my window carved by my oldest when he was little...a "gold pinch" as he called it then!
